Almost 100 people joined Lotte Mikkelsen in welcoming Pady O’Connor and Patch Adams to London on 25th April 2017.
It was a fabulous day and I heard back from the US that Patch really enjoyed it and is looking forward to coming back.
The great news is that the 2018 conference is already being planned and tickets will be available to the public for purchase real soon.
There are still a lot of unknown, uncertain factors including speakers to be confirmed. Those high-profile speakers are exciting in the context of the playing human and I have all my fingers crossed for successful agreement - please cross your fingers, too.
The idea came from a recent article I read and my mind wandered back to an exhibition I visited in my teens at the art gallery, Louisiana, north of Copenhagen. The exhibition was called Homo Ludens - the playing human. This has been leading to further inspiration as I was reminded of a book I came across back then, the book written in 1938 by Dutch historian and cultural theorist Johan Huizinga, “Homo Ludens”. A bit of context: http://
The conference will be held at Conway Hall near Holborn Tube and Russlell Square in Central London, a beautiful venue close to Covent Garden and City of London.
It will be a 2-day conference running 27-28 September 2018 both days from 9:30am to 5pm and I am ever-so-excited as Patch will join us once again and othershave agreed while yet others are lined up and hopefully will confirm soon!
